After graduation, I started applying for jobs but soon I realized there are some skills that I need to gain to pass all steps of the interviews. The most important part was the coding challenges in an allotted time! So, I started with one of the online coding challenges in preparation for the interview HackeRanck, referred by one of my good colleagues, João Matos.
After about two months of coding practice and not giving up, I got two job offers and finally chose one IEX Group(SwXtch.io).
At swXtch.io, we try to provide software solutions on the cloud. It’s a B2B product. I joined about a year after the birthday of SwXtch.io. One of our first products was software that provides multicast through the AZURE cloud, we called it swxtch. It could send multicast packets to any clients that were connected to the swxtch. Then we add functionalities such as a bridge that could provide on-prem to prem, multicast to unicast and visa versa, prem to on-prem, and so on.
I learned many good things about networks, the cloud, and working full-time as a software engineer through my first job. Throughout my career so far, I finished two online courses in C++ and started a book named Clean Code by Robert C. Martin.
